I have worked in wine since I can remember.
Formal studies: BA Degree in Industrial Psychology/Political Science from Stellenbosch University. Previous employers include Provincial Parliament, Franz Hirner Jewellers and Winecorp Stellenbosch.
During my time as CEO of Stellenbosch Wine Routes (2007 to 2015), I was responsible for the generic marketing of 152 wineries and 72 primary producers.
Events included the annual Stellenbosch Wine Festival, Stellenbosch at Summer Place, Helderberg Wine Festival, monthly Stellenbosch Street Soirees, international events like Stellenbosch at The Savoy (London), international trade events and more.
Professional accolades include being chosen as one of the Top 300 Western Cape Companies by Topco Media in 2010, Stellenbosch Wine Routes being recognised by Wine Enthusiast Magazine as their Wine Region of the World in both 2009 and 2013 – and being named the Best Promotional Body in the Drinks International Wine Tourism Awards in 2014 and 2015.
In 2008, I was recognised by Financial Mail as Brand Manager of the Year in their Wine Business Awards and also pre-selected by Wine Woman Awards, France in 2009. CEO Magazine also nominated me as one of SA’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government in 2009.
